Canyon is a tribal member of the Native Village of White Mountain. He was born in Nome, Alaska and raised in various communities across Alaska, now calling Anchorage home. Canyon is the oldest grandson of Francis Johnson and first born son to Natasha Gamache. 

Canyon hold's a bachelors degree in Counseling and Psychology from Alaska Pacific University. Since graduating in 2022 Canyon has spent his time, education, and experience working for multiple local and national non-profits in different capacities. From social media management, event coordination, administrative assistant, teaching, to federal lobbying and advocacy. 

He is a on going learner of his Inuit culture and enjoys participating in cultural activities like beading, skin sewing and gathering. Canyon hopes to bring his experience and energy to uplift the greater Alaska community.
