Atanaiyiq Gwen Field currently serves as the Director of Finance at First Alaskans Institute. Atanaiyiq completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Alaska Pacific University in 2019. For six years she worked in Revenue Billing & Accounting with NANA Management Services, a sister company to NANA Regional Corporation. Before joining FAI, Atanaiyiq held the Sr. Accountant position at AMES1, an Alaska Native company that works closely with Federal Government Construction contracts. She also worked as the Accounting Manager at Azachorok Incorporated, an Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act Village Corporation
Atanaiyiq was born in Kiana, Alaska to Helen Andersson (Blastervold) and the late Percy Jackson Jr. At one-month-old, she was adopted and raised in Noorvik, Alaska by the late Aqsaitaaq Ivan and the late Qaggun Ramona Field of Nuurvik (Noorvik). She learned from her parents not only how to love the land through gathering, fishing, camping, and hunting but also how to have love for the people through weekly dinner gatherings and an open kitchen for all.
Atanaiyiq currently lives in Anchorage, Alaska where she raised her five children. She enjoys sewing, berry picking, hiking, reading, baking, and gardening but nothing compares to just sitting on the tundra and being one with nature.
