First Alaskans Institute Honors Georgianna Lincoln Upon Her Retirement from the Board of Trustees

First Alaskans Institute extends its deepest gratitude to Georgianna Lincoln as she retires from FAI’s Board of Trustees, concluding a period of dedicated service marked by integrity, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to Alaska Native people and values. Throughout her tenure, Ms. Lincoln brought thoughtful leadership, a strong moral compass, and a lifetime of service to Alaska. Her guidance helped advance the Institute’s mission: True to identity, heritage, and values, Alaska Natives are informed and engaged in leading the decisions that shape the future.
“We extend our deep gratitude to Georgianna for her many years of dedicated service as an FAI trustee,” said Chair William Hensley. “Her commitment to building unity and improving the lives of people across Alaska reflects the very heart of First Alaskans Institute’s Vision.”
Trustee Rosita Worl added, “Georgianna Lincoln has left an enduring mark on Alaska history through her many roles—from serving as a state legislator to representing Doyon Corporation. Throughout her years of service, she demonstrated a relentless pursuit of social justice and equity for Alaska Natives.” Antionette Mallott also added, "Georgianna Lincoln has spent decades strengthening community through her generosity, her ability to connect across generations, and her deep commitment to cultural traditions and rural subsistence. Through 25 years of service with the First Alaskans Institute and her long‑standing participation in the Elders and Youth Conference, she has embodied leadership grounded in care, respect, and the sharing of knowledge.”
A respected leader and mentor, Ms. Lincoln is widely recognized for her commitment to public service, education, and the well‑being of Alaska Native communities. Her presence on the First Alaskans Institute Board reflected those values and strengthened the organization’s role as a trusted convener and advocate for Indigenous leadership. While she steps away from formal board service, Ms. Lincoln’s impact will continue through the leaders she inspired, the relationships she strengthened, and the principles she championed.

She has held long standing leadership starting with the inception of the Fairbanks Native Association that reflects integrity, strength, and lasting impact.”
