Sylvia served as secretary on the board of the Eyak Corporation and currently serves as a board member for The Eyak Foundation and Council member for the Native Village of Eyak. She and her husband are retired and live in Cordova near their three children. In the past, she worked as a Director of Chugach Alaska Corporation and the Alaska Federation of Natives. Sylvia is also an accomplished artist/painter.
